Background

HEX began in Charlotte, North Carolina as a pop up in 2015 and moved into its own roasting in 2017. From the start the philosophy has been producer first sourcing, single origin as the default, classic processing as the backbone, and a light and precise roast that aims for clarity, sweetness, and a strong sense of place. They describe this as a provenance focus, putting origin and producer stories at the center of both buying and service. The Camp North End cafe functions as a tasting led flagship where guests meet the coffees through focused service, clear information, and seasonal menus, and the brand’s education forward approach has helped shape Charlotte’s specialty scene.
